BERRY TRIP August 2007

Three students supply a Berry Trip Report

STAGE THREE BERRY EXCURSION – By Trae

On Wednesday the 29th of August Stage Three went to Berry. It was a long trip and 3 people got sick. When we arrived it was 1 o’clock. We had lunch then had our first activity - The Cook Off. We had to get some sticks to light a fire, then we were handed some damper dough. Mine turned out to be hard on the outside and soft in the inside.

After the Cook Off we were sorted into groups with the people we shared rooms with, people we sat next to at breakfast and dinner and the two teams. Once we finished we went to our rooms and unpacked our stuff and got dressed for dinner. I shared the room with James, Jackson and Daniel.

Next we went to dinner. I sat with James, Ben and Josh. We had roast chicken. Then we went to the night games. We were organised in groups of countries. We lost but still kept smiling. Then we went to bed.

The next day we did canoeing and the ropes course. It had a giant swing which was scary. In the evening we had dinner then a disco. We had to dance to different songs.

On the last day we had Iniatives and Bouldering. After lunch we set off to Eden and when we arrived, we all went home with our parents.

OUR BERRY TRIP – By Shyanne

On Wednesday the 29th August as we headed to Berry. It was very boring on the bus but we got to watch lots of movies. We had three stops at Cobargo, Narooma and Ulladulla. We had to make a few unexpected stops because some people got sick.

When we arrived at Berry we had lunch. For lunch we had Chicken Burgers. They were nice. After eating lunch we had the Cook Out. We got to cook Damper. Some people didn’t like it so they threw it into the fire. Soon after that we went for a bush walk and we saw lots of cows. Then our bush walk lead back to the camp site.

When we arrived back at camp we got sorted into our rooms. After finding out who was in our rooms and what room we were in, we got to settle in. The teacher came at told us that tea was ready. We headed down for tea. We had Roast Chicken. It was nice. We went back to our rooms and got ready for bed and before we knew it – it was morning.

We had cereal for breakfast and plenty of food. We met at the Assembly area (the basketball court). Our instructors – Hollie and Bill put us into two teams – the White group and the Green group. We were put into table groups as well. The White group go to do canoeing. It was fun and the Green group did the Rope’s course.

We got back to camp at lunch time so we had lunch and a little play. After that the White and Green groups swapped over and did the other activities.  Rose knocked Mr Mussett out of his kayak while canoeing. They said it was funny. After that we all headed back for dinner.

We had lasagne with vegetables. We had a disco then went to bed. The next day at Camp was the last day, so we had to pack up before breakfast. We played games until lunch-time. After lunch we got on the bus and went home.

OUR BERRY TRIP – By Hannah

On Wednesday the 29th August, Stage Three of Eden Public School travelled up to Berry for a school excursion.

During our excursion we experienced working as a team in lots of the activities we did. Some of the activities we nearly all participated in were: rock climbing, having a Cookout where we had to build a fire together with our teams, then the teachers lit them for us and when the fire was burning we cooked damper. Some other things we did were, a frightening ropes course, a giant swing and canoeing, where Mr Mussett got capsized!

Also we had a games night where there were lots of exciting games we played and we had a disco with lots of good music to dance to and also a funny story.

Stage three had a fantastic time at Berry, working together as a team, doing the activities and just having complete fun!
